Concert - Sauvage, Le Maxiphone

In 5 days

Ten musicians gathered around Fred Pouget form Maxiphone and playfully reinterpret the music of Jean-Philippe Rameau. Hurdy-gurdy, diatonic accordion, mandolin, electronic effects and airy winds wander through the heart of the Baroque repertoire, between jazz motifs and birdsong. A reinterpretation like a stroll full of surprises, at the Arsenal in Metz.

Rameau reimagined

Maxiphone revisits Jean-Philippe Rameau, the great French composer of the late Baroque and early Classical periods. The composer's presence emerges in fleeting touches, between melodies where jazz motifs surface.

A hybrid ensemble

Hurdy-gurdy, electronic effects, diatonic accordion, mandolin and an airy wind section make up a singular ensemble, following in the footsteps of the Maxiphone tightrope walkers.
